about the prints
With the advent of digital technology, giclee and pigment prints have become an increasingly important aspect of the fine art print world. These prints have certain advantages. The artist can produce one print at a time and can maintain control over every aspect of the image from concept to color, resolution, substrate and quality of the finished piece.
Two types of digital prints are offered. In a giclee print, the artist creates an original painting, which is then photographed and/or scanned into a computer and printed as a faithful replication of the original.
In a pigment print, the image is created by the artist either partially or entirely in the computer. It is then manipulated through various software programs such as Photoshop or Corel, and printed. The result is not a reproduction of an original painting, but a digital composite image, made possible by computer technology.
Archival pigments and papers with UV light inhibitors are used to produce stable and fade resistant prints with vibrant colors that are far beyond those of other traditional print processes such as lithography and silkscreen. Each print is signed and numbered by the artist and produced in a limited edition not to exceed 25.
